The activities of the Institute include the following: technical and scientific studies; promoting research work; carrying out tests and experiments; centralising, keeping up to date and publishing information and documentation concerning occupational safety and health; advising on legal and other measures to be adopted, especially with respect to the approval of machinery and the granting of authorisations to employ hazardous substances; promoting occupational safety and health training, including advanced training; taking every type of action concerning information on occupational safety and health measures and methods.
