Abstract These regulations, which entered into force on 1 May 1973, are based on the Royal Resolution of 30 Jan. 1953 concerning professional diving, the text of which is reproduced. They contain provisions concerning responsibilities, qualifications, equipment for diving and underwater work, inspection of diving equipment, supervision of the diver (preparation for diving, signal line, regulating valve, qualifications and duties of the signal line holder, decompression table, keeping of a log book, reserve divers), decompression chamber, diving vessel and flags indicating that diving operations are being carried out. The booklet also reproduces the text of the regulations concerning the pre-employment medical examination for persons wishing to take up professional diving with standard helmet equipment.
