Abstract This act dated 21 Apr. 1972, which entered into force on 28 Apr. 1972, constitutes basic legislation of wide scope covering all aspects of occupational safety and health: industrial medical services, work environment, accident prevention (physical and psychological factors, research); correct work techniques; training, selection and placement of personnel; minimum permissible working conditions (room space, ventilation, thermal stress, lighting, humidity, noise, etc.); safe machinery; personal protective equipment; medical examinations, first aid, etc. The act provides for subsequent detailed regulations on these and many other aspects of the question.
