Abstract These regulations entered into force on 27 Sep. 1972. Occupational health inspection officers may be appointed to enter and inspect undertakings at any time during working hours. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists threshold limit values of airborne contaminants are adopted as standards. Employers must maintain a healthy occupational environment and employees must comply with all health hazard rules. Compliance notification may be issued ordering remedy of hazardous conditions within a specified time. Penalty for non-compliance (after warning and issue of a compliance order): $1,000 minimum fine with further prosecution for continued offence. Medical examination may be required.
