Abstract This notification (entry into force: 1 Sep. 1971) stipulates the obligations of hauliers concerning driving, maintenance and repair of road haulage vehicles, hitching and unhitching of trailers, freight transport, etc. It stipulates work breaks for drivers and the appointment of auxiliary drivers under certain circumstances. The haulier is required to inform his workers of the contents of the notification and organise practical exercises at least once per year. Prior to employment and once a year thereafter, drivers must be tested on their knowledge of the statutory requirements.
