The main amendments revise procedures for hearings of appeals, bring sports arenas under the Act, incorporate into the Act provisions that were previously in regulation form and, at the same time, double the limit on fines to $10.00 (Canadian). Employees may now refuse to operate any unsafe machine, device or thing. They must report the condition to the person in charge forthwith and remain in a safe location near their work station, unless otherwise agreed to by the employer. Regulatory powers are expanded.
