This handbook on career counselling has been developed to share practical guidelines for those working with survivors of traumatic incidents. In the aftermath of Rana Plaza the ILO with the support of Canada, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom worked with ActionAid to provide career counselling to former Rana Plaza workers. This has helped them to slowly but surely regain confidence to find new work opportunities. Through the experience of working with these survivors many lessons have been learned. This publication has therefore been developed to share practical guidelines for those working with survivors of traumatic incidents.
