The project “Freedom of Association, Collective Bargaining and Labor Relations in Central America” (RELACENTRO), implemented by United Nations International Labor Organization (ILO), effectively began in January of 2001, with an initial two-year funding from the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) of $1.5 million. The project includes Panama and the Central American countries of Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Belize, as well as the Dominican Republic.
