    Contains strategic assessments and policy recommendations. It was produced under the purview of the Youth Employment Network (YEN) established by the Government of Sri Lanka involving senior policy-makers from government agencies and institutions, the private sector and the civil society.

  2. National policy on decent work

    Identifies the existing weaknesses in the focus areas of Decent Work and sets out policies designed to overcome them, while the National Plan of Action converts policy into action. Together these two documents set out the direction that Sri Lanka needs to take in implementing economic and social development. It is also the point of convergence for other policies on several aspects of decent work, and thus creates a blueprint for action in creating employment, and in ensuring the quality of work and workers’ lives.

  1. Sri Lanka: good practices to prevent women migrant workers from going into exploitative forms of labour

    Focuses on the situation of the women migrant workers in their families, workplaces, communities and societies in sending and receiving countries and also on the initiatives, policies and programmes, “good” and “bad” practices implemented by government, private recruitment and employment agencies and a wide range of social actors to assist and protect women migrants against exploitation and abuse and to prevent them from being trafficked.
