Prime Minister to kick off Sri Lanka Human Capital Summit in August 2016

The Sri Lanka Human Capital Summit themed Towards a Future-Ready Workforce will be on held on 11 and 12 August, with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe delivering the keynote.

A public-private initiative between the National Human Resource Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC), the Employers Federation of Ceylon and the Association of HR Practitioners (AHRP) supported by the ILO, ADB and the World Bank, the summit aims to develop a national agenda to discuss and find solutions to some of the critical human resource challenges facing Sri Lanka in key sectors like tourism, manufacturing, construction, foreign employment, logistics and services. This summit will also serve as a precursor for the Sri Lanka Human Capital Round Table in November.

NHRDC Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody said the summit was expected to bring together some of the best education and HR experts in the WB, ADB and ILO along with business leaders in the region.

The summit, which will be held at the Taj Samudra Hotel, is expected to bring together leading thought leaders in HR and industry to provide strategic perspectives and unparalleled insights into how Sri Lanka must and should address its current and future human capital challenges.
