    To support the Government of Jamaica to undertake a National Green Job Assessment Model (GJAM). This activity will support Jamaica in identifying sustainable development pathways for inclusive green economy and just energy transition.

    Building a resilient Belize through universal, adaptive and sustainable social protection

    This two-year Joint Programme supports a stronger, coordinated, integrated, shock-responsive, and resilient social protection system in Belize that reaches the most vulnerable, women and children through the development and implementation of the National Social Protection Strategy.

  3. Resilient Caribbean Joint Programme

    Engaging and training youth and strengthening integrated social protection sector delivery

    2 January 2022 - 31 December 2023

    This two-year Joint Programme, seeks to respond to current challenges facing Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including limited contributory social protection coverage, limited access for many workers in the informal sector, and a need for coherent and gender-responsive labour market programming.

    ILO support to Nationally Determined contributions Antigua and Barbuda Just Transition

    1 May - 30 November 2022

    The project aims at supporting Antigua & Barbuda in the realisation of its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) target to transition to a fossil-free nation in an equitable and inclusive manner, thereby, providing direct technical support to the country to ensure a just transition of its workforce. The project is funded by UNDP Climate Promise Programme.

    This project builds on previous ILO undertakings in Jamaica linked to Recommendation No. 204 concerning the Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy

  6. Caribbean Resilience Project

    ILO programme of targeted technical assistance to Guyana, Saint Lucia and Dominica for a just transition to environmentally sustainable economies in the context of climate change adaptation

    26 July 2019 - 30 December 2020

    Project aims to strengthen the capacity of three target countries - Guyana, Saint Lucia and Dominica - to become more resilient (in line with R205) by ensuring that the principles embedded in the ILO “Guidelines for a just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all” are fully adopted and implemented at national level.

    Employability Project (Barbados)

    15 July - 30 October 2020

    The Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations (MLSP) and the National Training Institute (NTI) in collaboration with the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean have developed a pilot project to enhance employability of persons who have lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  8. Youth Employment

    Caribbean Virtual Policy Network on Youth Education and Employment (VPNYEE) Initiative

    1 October 2017 - 31 December 2018

    The Initiative's primary goal is to help countries and stakeholders specify and understand which public policy interventions effectively support youth employment. It also aspires to put youth employment at the center of the national policy discourse through the promotion of well-informed and evidence-based practices as well as through the creation of a Caribbean led community of practice.

    EU Support to facilitate participation of CARIFORUM Civil Society in the Regional Development and Integration Process: Challenges to CARIFORUM Labour, Private Sector and Employers to fulfil their EPA Obligations

    A programme to enhance the capacities of the CEC and CCL with a view to their fulfilling their obligations with respect to the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement.

    Building the capacities of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour to ensure labour law compliance in the Haitian apparel sector

    1 November 2013 - 31 December 2017

    The ILO, with financial support from the United States Department of Labor, built the capacity of the labour administration and its inspection services to enhance compliance with labour laws in the Haitian apparel sector
