The ILO bids farewell to Dr. Hassan Ndahi

Dr. Hassan Ndahi leaves the ILO after 14 plus years of service to the Caribbean region.

Dr. Hassan Bata Ndahi assumed the position of Senior Specialist, Skills and Employability, ILO Office for the Caribbean on 14 May 2008. During his time at the ILO Caribbean Office, he spearheaded reviews of national apprenticeships and TVET programmes in Belize, Guyana, Jamaica and Suriname. He also facilitated numerous workshops underscoring the need to bridge the gap between the quality of education and skills. He was also instrumental in the drafting of a National TVET Policy for Barbados in 2018 through its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council.

Dr. Ndahi played at integral role as part of the CARICOM Digital Skills Task Force which was launched on 15 September 2021 to address and determine the elements of a Digital Skills Strategy for CARICOM thereby enhancing efforts to help more CARICOM citizens reap the benefits of digital transformation, digital and other skills, and to tackle the challenges of youth and other unemployment, skills mismatch and developing 21st century skills.
