Library Services

In the Caribbean region, library services are offered at the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean (DWT-POS) based in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago and at the ILO library at the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operatives in Valsayn, Trinidad and Tobago.

In 2000, the DWT-POS and the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operatives entered into a Cooperation Agreement for the provision of library services. The Agreement is intended to strengthen the capacity of the College as an institution of tertiary education to provide adequate access to historic and contemporary labour literature to students and ILO's constituents through an ILO depository library located on the premises of the College. The Agreement also provides an opportunity to enhance the ILO's outreach and to promote knowledge and understanding of international labour standards, industrial relations, and general labour market issues, as well as ILO experiences and values, to a wider public. In 2007, the Cooperation Agreement was revised to include the provision of ILO advice and participation through guest lectures and other related activities.

Requests for ILO information are entertained at both libraries through visits, telephone calls and email. The collections are mainly reference collections.
