Facilitating participation of CARIFORUM civil society in regional development and integration processes

The Forum is part of the programme of activities under the European Union-funded Project entitled Challenges to CARIFORUM Labour, Private Sector and Employers to fulfil their EPA Obligations: Caribbean Employers’ Confederation (CEC) and the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL) Component of the Support to Facilitate Participation of CARIFORUM Civil Society in Regional Development and Integration Process.

This Forum for senior representatives of Employers’ Organizations in the countries that are members of CARIFORUM is part of the programme of activities under the European Union-funded Project entitled Challenges to CARIFORUM Labour, Private Sector and Employers to fulfil their EPA Obligations: Caribbean Employers’ Confederation (CEC) and the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL) Component of the Support to Facilitate Participation of CARIFORUM Civil Society in Regional Development and Integration Process.

The focus of the Project is to build the capacity of CEC to play a more effective role in regional policy development. To do that successfully, it is imperative that the national Employers’ Organizations that are members of CEC also have their capacity strengthened to enable CEC to represent them effectively and to have the opportunity to provide meaningful input to the prioritisation of issues to be pursued and also the substantive content of the policy positions. This Forum will enable that process to commence.

The ILO and the CEC are grateful for the financial support of the European Union in funding this activity.
