Ms. Maria Victoria Giulietti

Senior Specialist, Employers' Activities

A national of Argentina, Ms. Maria Victoria Giulietti joined the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean as Senior Specialist for Employers’ Activities on 1 April 2021.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Giulietti worked at the ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean since June 2018 as Regional Coordinator of the European Union-funded Win-Win Programme "Gender Equality is Good Business".

Before that, Ms. Giulietti served as Employer Member of the ILO Governing Body, member and Employer spokesperson at the International Training Centre of the ILO Board (ITCILO), and at the Inter-American Centre for Knowledge Development in Vocational Training (Cinterfor).

Ms. Giulietti is also a lawyer with a master's degree in Environmental Management and international certification in Ethics and Compliance and previously served as the Head of Legal and International Affairs of the Argentine Industrial Association (UIA), the leading industrial Employer Federation and advocacy group in Argentina.

From 2001 to June 2018, Ms. Giulietti was the focal point between the ILO and the UIA, representing employers in the Tripartite Group of the ILO's Decent Work Country Programme. She has been a spokesperson for employers at the national and international level on several issues including the Labour Protection Committee at the 2015 International Labour Conference, gender equality, the eradication of child labour, informal economy, labour migration, youth employment, corporate social responsibility and the ILO Standards Review Mechanism Tripartite Working Group.

Ms. Giulietti also served as Employers' representative at National and International Working Groups, such as B20 Employment & Education; Transparency and Anticorruption Task Forces; Informal Economy, Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Committee; ISO 45.000 National Drafting Committee; Business Technical Labour Working Group on Monitoring and Reporting for compliance with the Money Laundering and Anti-corruption Regulations.

Previously, she worked as the legal advisor of Argentina's Drugs, Food and Medical Devices Agency, as well as the Judicial Branch as an officer of a Pre-Trial Criminal Court.
