Ms Virginia Rose Losada

Specialist, Sustainable Enterprise Development and Job Creation

Virginia Rose-Losada joined the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean in November 2018 as Sustainable Enterprise Specialist. Prior to her new role, Virginia was the global coordinator and lead technical officer for the ILO’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Programme and Know About Business - an entrepreneurship education Programme for TVET and Secondary Schools. Since joining the ILO in 2009, Virginia has supported entrepreneurship and SME initiatives, programmes and policies targeting women and youth in over 15 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

Virginia, a Spanish national, holds an MA in international economics and Latin American studies from the Johns Hopkins School for Advance International Studies (Washington DC and Bologna, Italy) and a BA in Political Science with a minor in Business from the University of Geneva (Geneva, Switzerland).

Prior to working with the ILO, she worked for the Inter-American Development Bank as coordinator of a university network promoting social responsibility within Latin America and the Caribbean. Virginia is fluent in Spanish, English and French and likes to think she can still speak Italian.
