Sub-regional Tripartite Conference on “Achievements and challenges ahead for social dialogue institutions in the Western Balkan countries and Moldova”

The meeting reviewed the results achieved of the joint technical project implemented by the International Labour Office and funded by the Austrian Development Agency on “Consolidating the legal and institutional foundations of social dialogue in the Western Balkan countries and Moldova” and identified challenges ahead in the area of social dialogue in the Western Balkans and Moldova.

The meeting also promoted tripartism and social dialogue as effective tools of economic and social governance by providing gap analysis, advocacy and recommendations to participants. It highlighted the importance of freedom of association and the right of collective bargaining in the subregion especially in time of crisis and economic difficulties and discussed the way forward to enable their full realization.
