Last chance to enter ILO global media competition on labour migration

GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) global media competition on labour migration issues closes on December 1 but there is still time to enter.

"Reporting Fairly on Labour Migration" encourages fair reporting on labour migration and aims to recognize the best media coverage and accurate reporting on the topic. The competition is organized jointly with the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Professional journalists and citizen journalists are invited to submit a piece of their journalistic work that demonstrates fair reporting on labour migration by 1 December, 2015.

Entries can be video, broadcast or multimedia formats (including a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video or interactive content). They must have been created and published between June 1, 2014 and December 1st, 2015 to qualify.

Winners will be announced on 18 December, 2015 to mark International Migrants Day.

Entries can be submitted in any language but if it’s in a language other than English, French or Spanish they must be accompanied by an English, Spanish or French translation.

The winner will receive a cash prize of US$1,000 from the ILO. They will also see their work promoted on the ILO website and in future conferences, trainings and other major events.
