Within the framework of the project "Support to Public Employment Services (PES) in Lebanon", the ILO is organizing a consultation workshop to support the development and implementation of a Labour Market Information in Lebanon. This workshop will present the findings of the study conducted on LMI available in Lebanon and will gather representatives from Ministry of Labour, the Central Administration for Statistics, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry, the National Employment Office, the Ministry of Social Affairs, employers and workers associations and others for the purpose of guiding this process.
The study conducted aims to analysis the existing Labour Market Information, and assess information gaps that would support the formulation of labour market and employment policies and identify recommendations on policies focusing specifically on the gaps related to the availability and quality of LMI and briefly introduce the analysis of currently existing data on the labour demand and supply.
- To brief key players of a potential Lebanon Labour Market Information System (LMIS) on the findings of the review and assessment of available Labour Market Information.
- To facilitate an in-depth discussion among the key players on the requirements for an effective development of a national labour market information system producing regular, coherent and comprehensive data.
- 3To come to an agreement on a road map for the future development of LMIS and the roles of the different key players.
