ILO to bolster inspection of occupational safety and health in Kuwait energy sector

The ILO International Training Centre will hold a training course with occupational safety and health inspectors of Kuwait’s Public Authority of Manpower to cover guidelines for inspection activities in the energy sector.

The ILO and the Kuwait’s Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) will host a series of training sessions to strength the capacity of PAM inspectors to undertake occupational safety and health (OSH) advisory and inspection activities at the energy firms in the country. The course has been devised by the ILO International Training Centre in Turin, Italy (ILO-ITC) to expose participants to guidelines for the inspection activities on OSH at energy companies. A total of 25 OSH inspectors from the PAM are expected to attend the training sessions.

Participants will analyse and discuss presented guidelines in order to exchange viewpoints and improve their competency as inspectors in the energy sector. Upon completion the ILO-ITC will issue a certificate of achievement to each participant enrolled in the course who attend 90 percent of training sessions.

The training course is part of a joint ILO-United Nations Development Programme initative to support the PAM in Kuwait.
