Promoting handicrafts and produce made by women in Jordan
As part of efforts to support communities in Jordan most affected by the Syrian refugee crisis, the ILO is joining forces with the Ministry of Labour in hosting a three-day bazar promoting products made by Jordanian and Syrian women.

A three-day bazar will bring together Jordanian women as well as Syrian refugee women to showcase their homemade products, as part of efforts to support self-employed women in Jordan.
Organised by the Ministry of Labour, with the support of the ILO and the UNDP, the event will provide Jordanian and Syrian women with an opportunity for income generation by marketing and selling their merchandise.
Women from across the country will be selling a range of products including accessories, embroideries, clothes and food.
The event is the eighth being held by the Ministry of Labour aimed at promoting home-based businesses of women.
The ILO has backed a number of festivals in Jordan as part of wider efforts to support both refugees and host community residents. One of the key components of the ILO’s response to the Syrian refugee crisis is to enhance employment opportunities and livelihoods in communities straining to cope with the influx of refugees.
