Communities hosting Syrian refugees build capacity to create jobs and enhance productivity in Jordan

Selected organizations and facilitators will receive training in value chain development to stimulate job creation and build national capacity to respond to increased labour supply resulting from the Syrian refugee crisis.

The ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin will conduct a one-week training workshop with selected ministries and private sector organizations in Jordan on value chain development (VCD), with a focus on communities hosting Syrian refugees. The workshop aims to offer participants enhanced understanding of VCD principles and their application to the local context, as well as contribute to the design and implementation of market driven VCD projects through action plans and monitoring tools.

The workshop forms an integral part of the ILO’s efforts to support the development and livelihood of communities affected by the Syrian refugee crisis under the project entitled “Enhancing access to employment opportunities and livelihoods in host communities.”
