Workshop to present and discuss the results of the labour force survey of Palestinians living in refugee camps and selected gatherings in Lebanon

The workshop will basically present and discuss the survey results. It aims to have focused deliberations over the labour force data and suggest means for efficient utilization of this information in advocating for better employment conditions and improved legislations for Palestinians’ right to work.

The International Labour Organization in partnership with the Committee for Employment of Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon (CEP), through the project “Improving access to employment and social protection for Palestinian refugees living in Lebanon” (funded by the European Union) has implemented, early this year, a labour force survey among Palestinian refugees in the camps and specific gatherings in Lebanon. The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) took charge of the field work and data processing with technical support from Fafo Institute (Norway).

The aim of the survey is to provide reliable and up-to-date data on Palestinian employment in the country in order to empower advocacy efforts and support evidence-based policy making for improved employment conditions for Palestinian refugees.
