The Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) and its affiliate –the Construction Workers’ Trade Union are organizing this training for members-tower crane operators to improve their understanding of employment contracts. The training is supported by the ILO RBSA project “Formal Employment Is Promoted for Inclusive and Diversified Economic Growth in Mongolia”.

Training participants
In January 2019, CMTU adopted an action plan for workers in the informal economy to strengthen the existing trade unions representing workers in the informal economy and promoting freedom of association through improved legal and regulatory frameworks, addressing their challenges through social dialogue and improving CMTU services including better access to information, advice and training. CMTU has been providing various support to unions whose members are mainly in the informal economy. Among others, it developed an employment contract template for use of tower crane operators who are mainly employed under non-employment contracts in practice despite the existence of legal requirements.

About 30 members of the Tower Crane Operators’ Trade Union will attend this training to get better knowledge on employment contracts and validate the employment contract template.
