ILO/MOHRSS Workshop on Global Working Conditions

The ILO in cooperation with national partners is carrying out a global survey aiming to improve working conditions and job quality for both men and women. The survey seeks to bring together information on working conditions in different countries and regions of the world, and encourages national and international stakeholders to engage in a comprehensive assessment of working conditions and job quality based on the recognition of their influence on individual and societal well-being as well as enterprise and economic performance. The national background papers will serve as an input into the international report on working conditions. China report is being conducted by the China Academy of Social Sciences.

The ILO and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security jointly organized a workshop in Beijing on 26 October 2017, for the purpose of presenting the key findings of the global survey on working conditions and to discuss how the information on working conditions in China should be reflected in the global report.

Around 30 participants attended the workshop, including representatives and specialists from the ILO, government, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and academia. The participants highly appreciated ILO’s effort and made valuable suggestions for further improvement of the global report. They are also expecting for the forthcoming global report to be launched in China.
