Working paper: Is a nationally defined social protection floor for Mongolia still affordable in the 2016 economic context?

The working paper presents results of the updated cost estimation of the Mongolian social protection floor as agreed through national dialogue in 2013-14 (in the 2016 economic context).

On top of social protection expenditure that has already been projected, an additional 1.19 per cent of GDP is expected to be required to achieve the nationally defined social protection floor. This contrasts with the estimated in 2014 additional needed cost of 1.68 per cent of GDP.
