The ILO publishes a wide range of books, reports, working papers, training manuals, CD-ROMs, videos and flash movies, relevant to Asia and the Pacific. Some of these can be downloaded directly. Others can be requested or purchased in hard copy from the ILO Knowledge Centre in Bangkok.

    Indonesia was one of the few economies to have demonstrated resilience to the global crisis in terms of both growth and employment. The ability of this country to weather the crisis was almost entirely due to the country’s reliance on a series of strong social protection schemes which were implemented after the 1997 Asian financial crisis and also addresses the challenges which lie ahead and the areas for improvement.

    This report reviews the current state of HIV and AIDS workplace discrimination in China and summarizes a broad body of existing research as well as reviews new research conducted by the ILO and Maries Stopes International. The findings point to a trend of increasing discrimination against workers that contradicts both national policies and international standards. This body of work highlights numerous cases of employment discrimination in several key practices and puts forward a set of recommendations aimed at improving the situation.

  6. Labour and Social Trends in Nepal 2010

    This report is the first issue of the Labour and Social Trends in Nepal. The report was produced by Professor B. Pyakuryal with technical inputs from the National Planning Commission (NPC) and ILO. It presents the socioeconomic and labour market trends in Nepal and examines some of the key opportunities and challenges in the labour market situation. It is in line with the ILO Global Jobs Pact's policies. The report contributes to the constructive policy for a sustainable and inclusive development in Nepal.
