COMPAS-ILO-ITC Course Collaboration ASEAN regional integration: challenges and opportunities. A Senior Executive Seminar

The International Labour Organization (ILO) ASEAN TRIANGLE Project, in collaboration with the International Training Centre of the ILO and ESRC Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford are organized a Senior Executive Seminar titled ASEAN regional integration: challenges and opportunities. The seminar was held on the 9-10th July 2014 in Phuket, Thailand.

The Seminar provides an opportunity for participants to attend a range of lectures on contemporary issues in labour migration by leading academics and policy specialists from the EU and ASEAN. These include issues such as: impacts of migration on national and local economies, factors leading to labour demand, migrant workers in irregular situations, gender dimensions, regional integration (skills recognition, employment services, labour shortages) and vulnerable occupations.

Resource speakers, COMPAS researchers and ILO staff prepared background papers to accompany the course curriculum. These background papers as well as the presentations delivered are contained within this publication.
