The report covers ten key indicators of the labour market and has been prepared with the technical assistance of the ILO. The report analyses the labour market in Pakistan for the period 2000-2006, using indicators such as labour force participation rate, employment-to-population rate and unemployment rate.

The structure of employment is examined using status in employment, employment by sector, educational attainment and other indicators that can be used to assess the attainment of decent work. The significance of this analysis is that it particularly informs poverty reduction strategy, evolving employment strategy, as well as promotion of decent work agenda.
