Programmes and projects: Safety and health at work

The ILO operates a wide range of programmes and projects in Asia Pacific focusing on relief and development challenges. The overall purpose of this technical cooperation is to support implementation of the Decent Work agenda in each country.

  • Occupational Safety and Health in Asia and the Pacific
    The ILO works to foster a preventative safety and health culture by strengthening national occupational safety and health (OSH) systems. This includes labour inspections, occupational injury reporting, training, and national OSH campaigns and programmes.
  • HIV/AIDS and the World of Work
    Helping workers, employers and governments to respond effectively to HIV and to eradicate HIV related stigma and discrimination in the workplace is a fundamental component of the ILO’s Decent Work agenda in Asia.
  • Avian and Human Influenza in the Workplace
    The project aims at assisting workers and employers in promoting practical preventive actions at workplace level in order to protect themselves from Avian Influenza and the future Pandemic Human Influenza.
