The ILO operates a wide range of programmes and projects in Asia Pacific focusing on relief and development challenges. The overall purpose of this technical cooperation is to support implementation of the Decent Work agenda in each country.

ILO/Korea Partnership Programme
The ILO/Korea Partnership Programme, which has been operational since 2004, works to support the aims of the Asian Decent Work Decade. In particular it focuses on the regional priority areas of competitiveness, productivity and jobs; labour market governance and social protection; and labour migration.
Asian Programme on the Governance of Labour Migration
January 2006 - April 2009 This programme, which is supported by the European Union, aims to promote dialogue and cooperation related to improved management of labour migration, with a particular emphasis on gender and rights. Its goal is to combat the exploitation and abuse of migrant workers in the Asian region.
ILO Mekong Sub-regional Project to Combat Trafficking in Children and Women
The project (which closed in October 2008) worked to prevent human trafficking and combat labour exploitation in the countries of the Mekong region.
Japanese Technical Officers Programme
Since 2003 this programme has organized the secondment of young professionals to ILO offices across Asia and the Pacific for one year assignments.

Launch Labour Law Network Project
The Launch Labour Law Network advances international labour standards in Asia and the Pacific by organizing seminars for labour law scholars and practitioners and research into labour-law related topics. It has also supported the establishment in November 2008of the Asian Society of Labour Law.

Regional Skills and Employability Programme in Asia and the Pacific (SKILLS-AP)
SKILLS-AP is helping to provide solutions to the many skills development issues confronting countries in the Asia and Pacific region.
