Japanese Technical Officers Programme

Since 2003 this programme has organized the secondment of young professionals to ILO offices across Asia and the Pacific for one year assignments.

The ILO/Japan Japanese Technical Officers Programme has been in operation since 2003, with the first batch of Japanese Technical Officers joining the ILO in 2004. With expertise in a wide range of subjects including development economics, occupational safety and health, social security, gender and women’s issues, child labour, and enterprise development, Japanese specialists bring a high level of professionalism and skill to their work at the ILO.

Through the Japanese Technical Officers Programme, young professionals are seconded to ILO offices across Asia and the Pacific for one year assignments. Japanese Technical Officers have worked in ILO offices in Thailand, India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
