  1. A WARMer and Greener initiative for decent work

    23 November - 29 December 2011, Colombo, Sri Lanka

    This training is funded under the ILO – Australian Partnership Agreement (2010 – 2015) being implemented in Sri Lanka from October 2010 – June 2012.

  2. Ceremonial Signing of Partnership on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace in Iloilo City

    23 November 2011, Iloilo City, Philippines

    This public event is organized by the City Government of Iloilo, the Local Working Group on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace (LW-EBFW) – Iloilo City, the Sub-Technical Working Group on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace (Sub-TWG on EBFW, with support from the ILO under the MDG-F Children, Food Security and Nutrition Joint Programme.

  3. All Employers and All Workers Forum on the Republic Act 10028 in Iloilo City

    22 November 2011, Iloilo City, Philippines

    This forum is organized by the Employers’ Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), the Federation of Free Workers (FFW), with the Local Working Group on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace – Zamboanga City, and supported by ILO under the MDG-F Children, Food Security and Nutrition Joint Programme.

  4. Training of the Trainer on Solar Home System

    21 November - 7 December 2011, Dhaka, Bangladesh

    Four ToTs for solar technicians and entrepreneurs will be conducted from 21 November to 7 December 2011. Each batch comprises of 25 trainees. The trainees are instructors from BMET, GS and staffs from other SHS service providers of the country.

  5. Community consultations on the establishment of child labour monitoring system in Quezon

    21 - 23 November 2011, Catanauan, Quezon Province

    The project management staff of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Quezon Province is conducting community consultations on the formation of Child Labour Monitoring and Integrated Services Delivery System (CLM-ISDS) in the community. Through consultations in the communities where in the design is expected to improve based on the inputs of the community people. This process is crucial because the communities have to take ownership over the programme for it to be successful.

  6. Labour market-responsive entrepreneurship skills training for disadvantaged youth in Masbate

    21 - 25 November 2011, Bituon Beach Resort, Mobo, Masbate

    The entrepreneurship training for disadvantaged youth is currently implemented in the four (4) pilot provinces: Masbate, Antique, Maguindanao and Agusan del Sur. It aims to promote entrepreneurship as a career option, a priority to address youth employment challenge. It employs the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB), the entrepreneurship training program of ILO.

  7. Seminar-Workshop on the improved use of international labour standards in dispute settlement for National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) officials

    21 - 25 November 2011, Makati City, Philippines

    It is in this context that the ILO is organizing back-to-back seminars for those involved in the disposition of labour cases in the Philippines: (i) judges and lawyers from the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; and (ii) arbitrators, conciliators, and mediators from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). These sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the international labour standards system and its relevance to settle labour disputes.

  8. 7th Programme Management Committee (PMC) meeting on the MDG F Joint Programme on Youth, Employment and Migration (JP YEM)

    18 November 2011, International Organization for Migration (IOM), Makati City

    Into its third year programme implementation, the meeting will present the progress and accomplishments of the Millennium Development Goal Fund (MDG F) Joint Programme on Alternatives to Migration: Decent Work for Filipino Youth. It will also present the Mid-term evaluation Improvement Plan and review its Annual Workplan for Year 3, with its corresponding budget.

  9. Launch of Understanding Children’s Work Country Report in Bangladesh

    17 - 17 November 2011, Dhaka, Bangladesh

    "ILO, UNICEF, the World Bank, and UCW program launed its Inter Agency Country Report on Understanding Children's Work in Bangladesh on 17 November 2011 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka.

  10. Workshop on New Product Development of Micro Insurance and Savings for Low Income Household

    17 - 18 November 2011, Haiphong, Viet Nam

    The workshop “New product development of micro insurance and savings for low income households “ is co-organized by Microfinance Support Programme under ILO Country Office for Viet Nam and Bureau of Social Protection, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

  11. Pre-testing of child labour incidence referral system

    To facilitate the pre-test training on child labour incidence referral system.

  13. Value-chain development scanning for IPEC in Northern Samar

    16 - 19 November 2011, Mondragon, Northern Samar

    The IPEC together with Stategic Development Cooperation, will assist Local Government Units (LGUs) develop an integrated employment strategy designed to promote access to wage and self-employment opportunities for older working children and their families.

  15. New standards on child labour for Thailand

    16 - 17 November 2011, Hua Hin, Thailand

    Establishing new regulations and standards covering hazardous child labour in Thailand, particularly in agriculture and the shrimp, fisheries and related industries, will be the focus of a technical workshop to be held 16-17 November in Hua Hin.

  16. Sub-Regional Advisory Committee (SURAC)

    15 - 16 November 2011, Bangkok, Thailand

    The SURAC meeting has served as an ILO platform for tripartite constituents to share information, experiences and provide guidance on anti-trafficking and migration management for ten years. The SURAC was first established in 2001 as an informal meeting between senior advisors, to provide guidance on anti-trafficking interventions and to stimulate thinking on sub-regional initiatives. At the 3rd SURAC meeting in September 2005, the meeting was reconstituted as a tripartite labour mechanism to coordinate country-specific action on human trafficking. The primary objective of the 6th session of SURAC in 2009 was to provide inputs to the design of the TRIANGLE project.

  17. Call for entries: recognition of outstanding stories on indigenous peoples (15 November 2011 deadline)

    15 November 2011, Manila, Philippines

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) Country Office for the Philippines, in partnership with Probe Media Foundation, will recognize outstanding published and broadcasted stories on Indigenous Peoples in print, photo essay, radio, television and online media. News outfits are requested to send their stories published or aired in the period from August 2009 until August 2011 to Probe Media Foundation not later than 12 midnight of 15 November 2011.
