  1. 15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting - Thematic panel III: Rights at work and social dialogue

    6 December 2011, Japan, Kyoto International Conference Center, Room A - 10.00-12.30

    Discussions in this panel focuses on how governments can reduce informality, regulate the employment relationship and target persistent discrimination.

  2. 15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting – Special session on “Sustaining the Future with Green Jobs”

    5 December 2011, Japan, Kyoto International Conference Center, Room B1 - 12.30-14.00

    This panel shares information on the opportunities and challenges created by the shift to sustainable patterns of growth. It looks at ways that 'climate smart' policies can create jobs while ensuring the just transition necessary to allow workers and employers to adapt to new roles and responsibilities.

  3. 15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting - Thematic panel II: Productive employment, sustainable enterprises and skills development

    5 December 2011, Japan, Kyoto International Conference Center, Room A - 16.00-17.45

    This panel looks at issues relating to poverty reduction, productive employment and social and economic mobility, and particular attention is given to the needs of young people.

  4. 15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting - Thematic panel I: Coordinated macroeconomic, employment and social protection policies

    5 December 2011, Japan, Kyoto International Conference Center, Room A - 14.00-15.45

    This panel considers ways that trade and investment policies can work with tax and social protection systems to support employment, and ensure that the benefits of growth and productivity are shared more widely.

  5. Greener Business Asia CORE Training Programme for Enterprises

    5 - 7 December 2011, Techno Park Hotel, Sta. Rosa, Laguna

    The training activity is part of the Enterprise Level Initiative (ELI) of the GBA Project, being undertaken at a pilot phase with the auto sector supply chain.

  6. 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting – Special Session on “Natural Disaster Response with a Central Focus on Employment Policy” by the Government of Japan

    5 December 2011, Japan, Kyoto International Conference Center, Room B1 - 18.00-20.00

    Asia and the Pacific is the more affected by natural disasters than any other region of the world. This Special Session, organised by the Government of Japan, discusses the central role of employment policies in natural disaster response. It includes discussions of lessons learned from past as well as continuing natural disaster response efforts in the region.

  7. 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting – Special Session on "Youth Leaders Forum"

    4 December 2011, Japan, Kyoto International Conference Center, Room A - 16.15-18.30

    This panel invited young leaders from across Asia, the Pacific and the Arab States to share their perspectives on how young people can effectively contribute to “Building a sustainable future with decent work”, the theme of the 15th APRM.

    The Meeting will consider the challenges of realizing decent work across Asia and the Pacific, mindful of the region’s great diversity, the impact of natural disasters and rapidly changing social, economic and political developments in the Middle East.

  9. IPEC conducts workshop on CLKSS in Bukidnon

    1 - 2 December 2011, Bukidnon Province

    The workshop in Bukidnon Province on Child Labour Knowledge-sharing System (CLKSS) was participated in by ILO-IPEC's implementing partners composed of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon; Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Region 10; and the Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. It was a venue to orient participants on how to use CLKSS as a tool for eliminating child labour.

  10. Roll-Out training for experienced ecotour guides

    1 - 4 December 2011, Bromo, East Java, Indonesia

    One of the activities that would be undertaken by the Green Jobs in Asia project for the local stakeholders at the Bromo area is eco tour guide training in forms of Training of Trainers (ToTs) for the skilled tour guides and followed by a rollout training for beginners and experienced tour guides.

  11. World AIDS day December 1st

    1 December 2011, Thailand

    This year marks the thirty year anniversary since the syndrome, now known as AIDS, was first reported and the global HIV response is at a pivotal moment. We have a new global vision—Zero new HIV infections, Zero discrimination, Zero AIDS-related deaths. Science is opening new doors—including solid evidence that antiretroviral therapy does more than treat HIV, it also prevents HIV. Sadly, 2011 has been a challenging year for Thailand with the devastating effects of the flooding. Subsequently many WAD events have been canceled and an important opportunity has been lost for vulnerable communities such as Sex Workers to share their advocacy messages. This article has been submitted by the sex work community in Thailand to share their experience this World AIDS day.

  12. Consultation Workshop on Employment and Macroeconomic Policies

    1 December 2011, Hanoi, Viet Nam

    The purpose of the workshop is to review, discuss, and asses to what extent macroeconomic management on monetary, fiscal exchange rate and capital account regimes has either helped or hindered the goal of attaining sustainable growth and full and productive employment, based on which suggest policy options for the future.

  1. Ceremonial Signing of Partnership on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace in Naga City

    29 November 2011, Naga City, Philippines

    This public event is organized by the City Government of Naga, the Local Working Group on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace (LW-EBFW) – Naga City, the Sub-Technical Working Group on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace (Sub-TWG on EBFW, with support from the ILO under the MDG-F Children, Food Security and Nutrition Joint Programme.

  2. Roll-Out Training for Beginner Ecotour Guides

    28 - 30 November 2011, Bromo, East Java , Indonesia

    The main purpose of the roll-out training for ecotour guides therefore is to give experienced tour-guides and potential eco-tour guides the necessary skills to conduct their specific activity following the ecotour guide national competency standards as stipulated by the Indonesian Government.

  3. Project management training for IPEC Bukidnon partners

    28 November - 1 December 2011, Bukidnon Province

    The IPEC staff to facilitate the conduct of Project Management Team Training and orientation on finance procedures to the implementing agencies in Bukidnon Province, conduct training on Child Labour Knowledge-Sharing System, and mentoring on Direct Beneficiaries Monitoring and Reporting.

  4. All Employers and All Workers Forum on the Republic Act 10028 in Naga City

    28 November 2011, Naga City, Philippines

    This forum is organized by the Employers’ Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), the Alliance of Progressive Labor (APL), with the Local Working Group on Exclusive Breastfeeding in the Workplace – Naga City, and supported by ILO under the MDG-F Children, Food Security and Nutrition Joint Programme.

  5. Training on conciliation, mediation, and arbitration

    28 - 30 November 2011, Makati City, Philippines

    It is in this context that the ILO is organizing back-to-back seminars for those involved in the disposition of labour cases in the Philippines: (i) judges and lawyers from the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; and (ii) arbitrators, conciliators, and mediators from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). These sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the international labour standards system and its relevance to settle labour disputes.

  6. Skills Certification for Eco-tour Guides

    24 - 26 November 2011, Pasuruan, East Java , Indonesia

    The assessment for skills certification will be designed in a holistic manner to encourage the assessors in order for them to assess the capability of the trainees that participated in the Training of Trainers for Eco Tour Guides.

  7. A WARMer and Greener initiative for decent work

    23 November - 29 December 2011, Colombo, Sri Lanka

    This training is funded under the ILO – Australian Partnership Agreement (2010 – 2015) being implemented in Sri Lanka from October 2010 – June 2012.
