This year marks the thirty year anniversary since the syndrome, now known as AIDS, was first reported and the global HIV response is at a pivotal moment. We have a new global vision—Zero new HIV infections, Zero discrimination, Zero AIDS-related deaths. Science is opening new doors—including solid evidence that antiretroviral therapy does more than treat HIV, it also prevents HIV. Sadly, 2011 has been a challenging year for Thailand with the devastating effects of the flooding. Subsequently many WAD events have been canceled and an important opportunity has been lost for vulnerable communities such as Sex Workers to share their advocacy messages. This article has been submitted by the sex work community in Thailand to share their experience this World AIDS day.
