  1. Equal Employment Opportunities and Principles of Non-Discrimination in Employment and Occupation for Women and Youth

    18 - 29 July 2011, Jakarta, Indonesia

    Main purpose of the training is to improve knowledge and increase understanding in Indonesia about international labour standards and practice on equality and non-discrimination at work, with a focus on strengthening principles of equal employment opportunities for youth.

  2. Diagnostic Tool on Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining in the Filipino Export Processing Sector

    18 - 29 July 2011, Makati, Laguna, and Cavite, Philippines

    The ILO is creating global tools to enhance its constituents' capacity to promote freedom of association and collective bargaining in the rural and export processing sectors. A diagnostic tool will identify gaps in national law and practice; it will also identify opportunities and means available to the national tripartite constituents to take remedial action on freedom of association and collective bargaining rights in the export processing sector through a national plan of action.

  3. Training on Inspection in the Application of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006

    11 - 14 July 2011, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Subic, Zambales

    The Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 draws together provisions of 68 maritime labour conventions and recommendations, dating back to the 1920s, setting minimum requirements on health, social security, work and rest hours, accommodation, recreation, food and other employment conditions affecting seafarers.

  4. Rights-Based Training on Improving the Migrant Workers Prevention and HIV-Health Treatment Access

    4 - 12 July 2011, Surabaya, East Java and Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

    HIV/AIDS case in Indonesia is growing fast. The Ministry of Health reported the cumulative AIDS case up to Dec 2010 is 24.131 cases. Indonesia classified as a low concentrated epidemic country, focusing the intervention to the key populations (sex workers, homosexual, injection drug user and client of sex workers) whereas the migrant worker as vulnerable group is not prioritized to be targeted. In the last five years, due to the type of transmission, HIV transmission type in Indonesia changes from injection drug to sexual transmission.

  1. “Green Light for Green Jobs” – Employers Symposium

    30 June 2011, Colombo, Sri Lanka

    This symposium was held on 30th June 2011 for members of the Employers' Federation of Ceylon (EFC)to raise awareness on the concept of green jobs, to brief them on a proposed green initiative mapping exercise and to build capacities within the EFC (professional staff and organisations in the membership of the EFC).

  2. Training of Trainers on Work Improvement in Small Enterprises

    30 June - 2 July 2011, Yogyakarta, Indonesia

    Workplace health and safety measures demand a commitment from employers and workers to use good business sense and follow well-recognized safety and health principles. Thus, the training is aimed to create a pool of trainers of WISE method to assist small and medium enterprises to improve their workplaces.

  3. New tools in efforts to address child labour in Bangladesh

    29 - 29 June 2011, Dhaka, Bangladesh

    Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) launched on Jun 29, 2011 a Child Labour Management Information System (CLMIS) and its Child Labour Unit's Website. The CLMIS and Website were developed with technical assistance of the ILO-UIE Project. Mr Shafique Alam, Secretary, MoLE, Mr Alphons Hennekens, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Netherlands, and Mr Andre Bogui, Director, ILO Country Office for Bangladesh, attended the event.

  4. Second year assessment and year 2 planning workshop (Angelo King International Center - College of Saint Benilde, Arellano Street corner Estrada Street, Malate, Manila)

    29 June - 1 July 2011, Manila, Philippines

    As the programme nears the end of year 2 (July 2011), the JP YEM 2nd Year Assessment and Year 3 Planning Workshop conducted a comprehensive review of cumulative accomplishments vis-à-vis the joint programme Monitoring and Evaluation Framework and the Results Framework.

  5. Green Jobs, Greener Business Training for Constituents and Partners – Thailand

    28 - 30 June 2011, Bangkok, Thailand

    The training is organized under the Greener Business Asia Project and supported by the Government of Japan. It aims at fostering the understanding by Thai constituents of the conceptual framework that provides the foundation for initiatives promoting Green Jobs and principles of a Just Transition.

  6. ILO/ITC-ACTRAV/JILAF Trade Union Training on Occupational Safety, Health and HIV-AIDS 2011

    27 June - 15 July 2011, ITC in Turin, Italy and JILAF in Tokyo, Japan

    The ILO/ITC-ACTRAV Trade Union Training on Occupational Safety, Health and HIV-AIDS” was conducted for Asian trade union representatives.

  7. Training of Trainers on Social Dialogue

    27 - 30 June 2011, Philippines

    The training aims to develop Social Dialogue advocates among ILO tripartite partners in the water utilities and public sectors. These social dialogue advocates are expected to spread the spirit of open communication, transparency and balanced dialogue between and among tripartite partners and in the community.

  8. A Series of Training of Trainers - Budget Smart: Financial Education for Migration-Affected Youth

    27 June - 28 July 2011, Bandung, Banda Aceh, Makassar, Palangkaraya, Sumbawa and Kupang, Indonesia

    The series of training of trainers aim to educate prospective migrant workers on how to plan the migration, determine their migration goals, access financial services, as well as invest the earned remittances productively.

  9. Tripartite Validation Workshop of the Indonesia Decent Work Country Profile

    27 - 28 June 2011, Jakarta, Indonesia

    Monitoring and assessing progress towards decent work at the country-level is an important concern for the ILO and its constituents. Against this background, the ILO Declaration on Social Justice for a Fair Globalization (2008) details that member States may consider “the establishment of appropriate indicators or statistics, if necessary with the assistance of the ILO, to monitor and evaluate the progress made” (Paragraph II.B.ii.).

  10. Community-based Training on New Product Development and Reaching Potential Tourism Market in Hoi An

    25 - 30 June 2011, Quang Nam, Viet Nam

    The ILO project on Youth Employment through Local Economic Development in Quang Nam and Quang Nam Department of Industry and Trade (DOIT) delivered a training course on product development and reaching market skills for Binh An women weaver group from 25 to 30 June 2011.

  11. Community-Based Training for Local/Religious Leader on HIV and Migration

    21 - 22 June 2011, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

    The training is aimed to improve the awareness and knowledge on HIV/AIDS vulnerabilities in migration cycle for local communities/religious leaders and to reduce stigma and discrimination for migrant workers who living with HIV.

  12. Seminar on Social Dialogue for Electronic Industry

    21 - 23 June 2011, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia

    The objective of the seminar is to create mechanisms of dialogue for the social partners to proactively deal with issues such as productivity, working conditions, customer-supply –relations, contract labour and employability.

  13. Workshop on Public-Private-Local Community Partnership Against Child Labour in Indonesia

    21 June 2011, Jakarta, Indonesia

    The event aims at strengthening cooperation between child rights/child welfare NGOs, private sector’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and governmental institutions so the social needs can be identified and fulfilled in future CSR’s activities and policy.

  14. ILO/KOREA: International training programme to promote National policy framework for OSH with KOSHA

    20 - 30 June 2011, Incheon, Republic of Korea

    This aims to assist the participants in contributing to the development and implementation of national OSH programmes in their countries. The training will reflect the ILO Promotional Framework for OSH Convention (C.187) adopted in 2006 with practical experiences in national OSH developments form the Republic of Korea.

  15. International Forum on Occupational Health and Safety: Policies, Profiles and Services

    20 - 22 June 2011, Hanasaari Cultural Centre, Espoo, Finland

    The aim of the International Forum is to look into occupational safety and health policies and profiles and make an inventory, and then to continue with the introduction and further development of occupational health services, Basic Occupational Health Services in particular.

  16. World Day Against Child Labour 2011 in Thailand

    19 June 2011, Samut Prakarn, Thailand

    Event of the world day, “Creative operational campaign against child labour in hazardous work,” was organized on 19th June 2011 at Tesco Lotus in Samut Prakarn Province, a neighbouring province of Bangkok. This public awareness raising seminar was co-organised by the National Council of Thai Labour (NCTL) and the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT).
