National Knowledge-sharing Workshop on Successful Strategies for Women's Entrepreneurship Development

The workshop is organized by Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy (MIME) and ILO-Women's Entrepreneurship Development and Gender Equality (WEDGE) with a view to take stock of achievements, progress and challenges since 2006, and to identify good practices, measures and mechanisms for wider application in the future. Participants from the projects' partner organizations as well as NGOS, donors and together technical agencies will be invited to present and share their experiences in economic empowerment of women and mainstreaming gender equality concerns in the field of entrepreneurship development.

Objectives of the workshop

To improve the understanding and affinity among key policy-makers and technical managers in stakeholder organizations regarding effective strategies and measures to promote women’s entrepreneurship and mainstream gender equality concerns into entrepreneurship development;

To promote the mainstreaming of good practices on Women’s Entrepreneurship Development in national socio-economic development strategies and their replication through donor projects;

To promote implementation of the MIME and MoLVT Gender Mainstreaming Action Plans and the RGC Women’s Development Plan as they relate to women’s economic empowerment.
