Objectives of the workshops
- To create a ‘business mindset’ among laid off workers who have little prospect of finding wage employment;
- To enable laid off workers and their families who are already engaged in entrepreneurship to shift from marginal income generation to profitable business development through improved basic business management skills;
- To improve on basic business management skills for laid out workers and their families;
- To familiarize PTC trainers with the GET Ahead manual so that they can then begin to organize training with the laid out workers studying vocational training;
- To familiarize trainees with the GET Ahead Training Methodology,
- To prepare action plans for the delivery of further training and for linking trainees with the necessary follow-up support services in their target areas.
