Celebrating International Migrants Day

A multi-activity event day will be held to introduce migration issues and the Saphan Siang campaign to the Thai public.

To celebrate International Migrants Day, a multi-activity event day will be held to introduce migration issues and the Saphan Siang campaign to the Thai public at the Thammasat University School of Law, Tha Prachan campus. The event will comprise of both art and educational activities. Students who attended the Debating Migration: A Workshop on Migration Issues in Thailand, will debate a motion on migration issues in Thailand and South-East Asia. Alongside this debate, there will be an art exhibition that celebrates migrants, including the Saphan Siang ‘A Positive Image’ photo exhibition and art and performances created during the MTV EXIT-Saphan Siang roadshow in Mae Sot. The event will also serve as a forum to introduce the Saphan Siang Youth Ambassadors programme. GMS TRIANGLE Project/Saphan Siang partners (World Vision, Dear Burma, IOM, and others) will also be invited to attend and to have a stall set-up to promote their activities on migrant workers in Thailand. Members of the Thai and international media will be present and all are welcome.
