Sub-regional Training of Facilitators on Disability Equality Training

There is a need to build the capacities of some key stakeholders on practical tools that will facilitate the promotion of ‘Promoting Decent Work for People with Disabilities through a Disability Inclusion Support Service’ (INCLUDE) in the selected countries and that will introduce a more inclusive approach in general. As countries in the region are moving towards the ratification and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities, there is grown demand for Disability Equality Training run by people with disabilities, which aims to help people understand the meaning of disability, identify changes in work practice, and plan strategies to implement change

Objectives

The five-day training of facilitators aims at:

  • Creating a pool of Disability Equality Training Facilitators in East Asia.
  • Promoting a more inclusive approach to development work in East Asia.
