Building back better with environmental sustainability and gender equality: Recommendations for the textile and garment sector in the post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery

This Synthesis Report covers the regional level findings, priorities and recommendations and detailed explanation of the study methodology, as well as presenting summary findings for each of the country level results. The Synthesis Report draws on all the empirical data collected through the Study in the four countries.

The Building Back Better with Environmental Sustainability and Gender Equality Study is part of the Decent Work in the Garment Sector Supply Chains in Asia project. The four-year project was funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) in collaboration with the ILO Regional Office in Bangkok aims to improve working conditions and rights of women and men workers in the sector in Asia through improved social dialogue, productivity, gender equality and environmental sustainability. A Study utilizing Delphi Methodology was conducted to identify country and regional level findings and priorities for supporting increased environmental sustainability and gender equality in the garment sector.
