    Employers and workers of Timor-Leste agree to promote constructive industrial relations

    Representatives of employers’ and workers’ organizations sat down together bilaterally for the first time, facilitated by the ILO. They agreed to build a social dialogue culture in the country as a means to develop greater trust and constructive industrial relations in the country.

    High-level Swiss delegation visits garment factory in Dong Nai

    Since 2010, the Saitex factory has been part of Better Work Viet Nam, a flagship programme of the ILO and the International Finance Corporation to improve working conditions and boost competitiveness of the garment industry. The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of Switzerland is one of its main donors.

    The 2019 Regulating for Decent Work prize has been won by a Vietnamese researcher for a study of the conditions of female migrant workers in Myanmar’s garment factories. The prize was presented during the 6th Regulating for Decent Work conference, hosted by the ILO.
