Tri-partite consultation workshop on improving the compliance and reporting of core labour standards

The ILO in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development and with the financial assistance of the European Union organized a tri-partite plus workshop for the Provincial Tripartite Consultative Committees of Baluchistan and Sindh provinces. The workshop fostered greater understanding of core international labour standards and has helped in evolving a national action plan to strengthen the compliance and reporting of these standards.

Fair Trade Certification for Red Lady Papaya: Vavuniya North Fruit Growers Cooperative achieves another landmark.
13 February 2017, Colombo, Sri Lanka
Vavuniya North Fruit Growers Cooperative Union has achieved a major milestone by becoming the First Cooperative in Sri Lanka and probably the first organization in South Asia to be Fair Trade Certified for Red Lady papaya. The certification process was carried out by the Global Certifying Body for Fair Trade- FLOCERT.
