A new report on trends in wages worldwide will be released by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the UN specialized agency dealing with work and work-related issues.
The Global Wage Report analyses average real wages across the world, giving a unique picture of wage trends and relative purchasing power across the world and by region. The 2012/13 edition also looks at the consequences of the wage trends, the effect on economic recovery, and the links to equitable growth and development.
The report and all associated materials are embargoed until 11.00 GMT (18.00 Bangkok time) on Friday 7 December 2012.
Advance copies of the report, executive summary and some associated materials can be made available in advance to recognized journalists, on request. Interviews can also be scheduled with ILO experts in the Asia Pacific region. A media briefing, hosted by the ILO’s Director-General, Guy Ryder, will take place in Geneva at 10.30 GMT on Friday 7 December.
