ILO to launch new Global Report on Wage Trends during the crisis

BANGKOK (ILO News) – The ILO is to launch the second edition of its Global Wage Report which provides a global analysis of wage trends during the crisis using the latest world, regional and country-level estimates.

BANGKOK (ILO News) – The International Labour Office (ILO) is to launch the second edition of its Global Wage Report which provides a global analysis of wage trends during the crisis using the latest world, regional and country-level estimates.

The “Global Wage Report 2010/11 – Wage policies in times of crisis” will be issued under embargo on Monday, 13 December, for publication on or after 16:00 GMT (23.00 Bangkok Time) on Wednesday, 15 December.

While the previous Global Wage Report 2008/09 reviewed wages during the generally favourable economic period between 1995 and 2007, the current edition looks at wages during 2008-09 – a period characterized by the deepest economic downturn since the 1930s.

Launch details

The report and all associated media and information materials including the press release are under embargo and not for publication, broadcast or quotation before 16:00 GMT on Wednesday, 15 December.

A press briefing on the Wage Report will be held on Monday, 13 December, at 14:30 at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.
