    The International Labour Organization (ILO) is proud to present a regional ‘Women and the Future of Work’ conference to examine the opportunities and challenges of the future at work for women in Asia and the Pacific, sponsored by the Australian Government’s Department of Employment.

  1. Seminar on Forced Labour Convention,1930 (No.29)

    23 - 24 November 2017

    A workshop will be jointly organized by the ILO and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS) under the EU-China Dialogue on Migration and Mobility Support Project. The workshop aims to support the decision for China to endorse the ratification of the ILO Forced Labour Convention (C29).

  2. Training on Fair Recruitment of Philippines and Hong Kong Associations of Recruitment Agencies

    22 - 23 November 2017

    The Integrated Programe on Fair Recruitment (FAIR project) is committed to exploring new ideas that could help reduce deceptive and abusive recruitment practices. The FAIR project will undertake the training of Philippines and Hong Kong Kong private recruitment agency associations on fair recruitment.

  3. The 2017 Viet Nam Industrial Relations Forum

    22 November 2017

    The 2017 Viet Nam Industrial Relations Forum, jointly organized by the Government, VCCI, VGCL and ILO, offers an opportunity for tripartite partners and stakeholders to assess the situation and challenges, to reflect on progresses made in the past year, and to jointly identify ways forwards.

  4. Tripartite partners review and validate the National OSH Profile report in China

    11 November 2017

    National OSH profile workshop was held on 10 November 2017 in Beijing. The draft report is reviewed and validated in the meeting.

  5. High level dialogue on the Pacific Voice for a Just Transition, Job Creation and Climate Resilience

    7 November 2017

    High-Level Dialogue organized by of The Republic of Fiji (COP 23 President) in partnership with the International Labour Organization to shed light on the interlinkages between Decent work and environmental sustainability.

  6. Factory Based Workshops (FBW) on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)

    6 - 10 November 2017

    The ILO in collaboration with Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) and Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PSGMEA) will conduct a 5 day training on OSH to sports goods industry in Sialkot under the Project on “More and Better Jobs through Socially Responsible Labour Practices in Asia (Pakistan) – Phase II” funded by the Government of Japan. The objective of the training is to enhance awareness and strengthen understanding on OSH among the participants.

    The Forum is convened and hosted by the Philippine Department of Labor and Employment with the support of the ASEAN Secretariat, ILO, IOM, UN Women and the Taskforce on ASEAN Migrant Workers.

    Health services are complex work environments - working in health care can at times be dangerous. Health workers are seen as experts in improving health, but often it is overlooked that the nature of their work exposes them to many occupational hazards that put their own health at risk.

  4. Stakeholders’ Dialogue on EFP’s National Business Agenda and MNE Declaration

    Employers’ Federation of Pakistan with the technical assistance of ILO is raising awareness among stakeholders on key elements of the ILO’s Declaration on Multinational Enterprises & Social Policy through a panel discussion focusing opportunities & challenges concerning occupational, safety & health and women engagement in the workforce.

  7. Provincial Consultative Workshop on Youth Employment Framework

    18 October 2017

    The ILO will support the Government of Punjab and Prime Ministers’ Youth Programme (PMYP) in organizing a consultative workshop on Youth Employment Framework in Lahore. This is part of a series of consultations across the country aimed at devising consensus based strategies for youth employment and empowerment.

  9. Regional meeting on skills and the future of work: Strategies for inclusive growth in Asia and the Pacific

    The meeting provides a forum where experts and tripartite partners will hold in-depth discussions on key issues related to ‘skills and the future of work’ which will feed into an ILO publication on the topic.

  10. National Consultation on Labour Migration & Fair Recruitment

    11 October 2017

    The ILO is embarking on a project funded by the European Union on ‘Fair Recruitment practices’ - “Global Action to Improve the Recruitment Framework of Labour Migration or REFRAME. In this regard, a national consultation was held in Islamabad on 11th October 2017 to identify the challenges and priorities for action and implementation modalities of this new project”

  11. Provincial Multi-Stakeholder Meetings on Working Condition Improvement in Palm Oil Plantation

    11 - 12 October 2017

    The Provincial multi-stakeholder meetings are conducted as an effort to promote decent work in palm oil plantations, particularly in North Sumatra.

  12. Regional Consultations for the Updating of the National Occupational Safety and Health Profile

    10 October 2017

    The Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), in partnership with the ILO SafeYouth@Work Project, has been convening a series of regional consultations to gather region and sector-specific inputs from tripartite plus stakeholders for the updating of the national OSH profile. So far, regional consultations have been done in Region III at Clark, Pampanga (July 27, 2017), Region VII in Cebu City (September 29, 2017) and Region IVA in Batangas City (October 10, 2017). Similar consultations will also be convened in the Cordillera Administrative Region and in Region XI in the coming days.

  13. Workshops on establishment of trade union champion networks in IZ/EPZ/EZ in Viet Nam

    10 - 14 October 2017

    50 trade union champions representing for 50 Industrial Zones/ Export processing zones/ Economic Zones (IZs/EPZs/EZs) in Vietnam have gathered together in Quang Ninh and Vung Tau to discuss on establisment and operation of the Trade Union Champions Networks. This is an initiative in the cooperation program under New Industrial Relation Framework Project (NIRF).

  14. Palm Oil Multi-Stakeholder National Dialogue

    To develop a joint common action as well as to promote decent work in the palm oil industry in Indonesia, employers' and workers' organizations in collaboration with the ILO is conducting a a palm oil multi-stakeholder national dialogue with the palm oil's multi- stakeholders.
