  1. Nepal: National Capacity Building and Planning Workshop for Stakeholders of Home Based Workers and Informal Workers in Supply Chains

    The two-day workshop was aimed to build capacity, create a common understanding and concertize possible actions on the issue of home workers, home-based workers, and other workers in the informal economy, who are part of global supply chains.

  2. Skills 21 and TVET institutes conducted workshop on organizing policy dialogue to review NSDP

  7. Leadership-cum-capacity building workshop for District level officials of Central Trade Unions in Telangana

    5 - 6 November 2019

    A Leadership-Cum-capacity Building Workshop for District and Mandal (field) level officials of partner Central Trade Unions and their affiliates in agriculture sector in Telangana was organized as a part of the Promoting fundamental principles and rights at work in the cotton supply chain project.

  8. Regional Training on Actuarial Analysis for Social Health Insurance Benefits

    4 - 8 November 2019

    Viet Nam Social Security, ILO Viet Nam and the International Training Center are co-organizing a Regional Training on Actuarial Analysis for Social Health Insurance Benefits on 4-8 November 2019 in Hanoi. The training is expected to address the needs to improve the national technical expertise in actuarial analysis for health insurance benefits and to promote exchanges across stakeholders the countries in South East Asia.

  1. Workshop on Cotton Production and Supply Chain study in Telangana

    Workshop for trade unions in the private sector on the application of ILO supervisory body recommendations on the minimum threshold for representativity of trade unions in Sri Lanka in compliance with Convention 098 (Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining).

  4. Training Workshop on Employment Insurance (EI): Global, Regional and Korean Experience on (Un) Employment Insurance

  5. Grievance Handling Guidelines and Workplace Cooperation Guidelines: Training of Department of Labour (DoL) Trainers

    28 - 29 October 2019

    A training-of-trainers (ToT) workshop for about 20 Sri Lanka DoL officials was held on 28-29 October 2019. This followed an earlier workshop convened by the DoL in partnership with the ILO in July 2019 to develop enterprise-level grievance handling guidelines and workplace cooperation guidelines respectively. The next step following the TOT is to pilot the guidelines in a few enterprises and to refine them further based on the lessons learned.

    ILO’s European Union funded project Skills 21 organized a roundtable discussion on investment in skills development in Government's 8th Five Year Plan with the development partners, planning commission and the constituents in collaboration with the Daily Prothom Alo on 23 October 2019.

  9. Focus Group Discussion on Quality Apprenticeship Program with Sector Associations

    Based on the Presidential Instruction No. 9/2016 on the revitalization of vocational education to improve the competitiveness and quality of workforce, five ministers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 29 November 2016.

  10. Government of Bangladesh and ILO discuss responsible business practices in the RMG industry

    15 October - 31 December 2019

    Better Work Bangladesh (BWB) facilitated a high-level workshop to discuss the progress under the third pillar of the Bangladesh Sustainability Compact – Responsible Business Conduct – with participants discussing ways to ensure the future sustainability of the Bangladesh RMG industry.
