In the Design and Preparatory Phase of A Comprehensive Programme for Combating the Worst Forms of Labour Exploitation and Human Trafficking of Migrants in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region and Malaysia through the Promotion of Decent Work for All, an extensive tri-partite consultation is required. During the participatory phase for this regional project on human trafficking, the inputs and opinions of the national and regional stakeholders are crucial to provide a firmer foundation for the project.

ILO Issues revised global unemployment projections; Unemployment in Asia Pacific could top 100 million people
The number of people unemployed in 2009 could increase by between 29.4 million and 58.8 million people globally, and between 9 and 26.3 million in Asia Pacific, compared to 2007. That’s according to new projections from the ILO, the United Nations agency that deals with work and workplace issues.

ILO global employment trends report 2009 - unemployment, working poor, vulnerable employment to increase dramatically due to global employment crisis
The global economic crisis is expected to lead to a dramatic increase in the number of people joining the ranks of the unemployed, working poor and those in vulnerable employment, the International Labour Office (ILO) says in its annual Global Employment Trends report (GET).
