Orientation on employment services and labour market information for Lao People's Democratic Republic officials
The ILO/China South-South Cooperation Project in collaboration with Lao PDR’s Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare organized a two-day Orientation on Employment Services and Labour Market Information for its Employment Services Job Centre staff, including senior officials of the Department of Labour and Social Welfare stationed in provinces of Borikhamxay, Champasack Khammoun, Louangprabang, Oudomxay, Savannakhet, Xayyaboury and Vientiane.
During the meeting action plans on Employment Services for 2015 were developed by the provincial level decision makers and staff. The plans are designed to improve Employment Services Job Centres’ performance, enhance employment services delivery to job seekers and employers, and raise awareness of the types of services the Centres can provide to jobseekers and employers. The results from the implementation of the action plans will support the National Economic and Social Development Plan and the Labour Law.
