    A Coaching Programme for Youth in Fragile Settings

    “A Coaching Programme for Youth in Fragile Settings: a Training of Coaches” has opened today in New Delhi. At the opening ceremony, participants were welcomed by Dr Sher Verick, ILO Country Office Deputy Director. The programme is composed of a face-to-face workshop which runs from 9 to 12 May 2017 and which will be followed by a distance learning component, then by a second face-to-face component in November 2017. Both workshops will take place in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, thanks to the precious support of the ILO India Country Office and Decent Work Country Team. The contents and training materials for the programme were developed by the ITCILO and the Development Alchemists.

    Training programme for Afghanistan – Week 4: Entrepreneurship

    The fourth module of the One Year Training Programme on Employment Policies: Moving from Fragility to Resilience – Tailored for Afghanistan has officially started today in New Delhi. The module, which focuses on Entrepreneurship, will run until 26 May and sees the participation of 26 representatives of the Afghan Government as well as of Workers’ and Employers’ organizations.

    Being an Entrepreneur in India: Voices from the Field

    On Wednesday 24 May 2017 a group of young local entrepreneurs met at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi to share their own experience of being an entrepreneur in India and starting and running a business with participants to the One Year Training Programme on Employment Policies: Moving from Fragility to Resilience – Tailored for Afghanistan. The event was part of the Fourth Module of the Programme, which focuses on Entrepreneurship.

    Youth Employment: Third Module of the Training Programme for Afghanistan

    “Youth Employment”: third module of the One Year Training Programme on Employment Policies – tailored for Afghanistan has taken place in Kabul. Week 3 of the One Year Training Programme on Employment Policies – tailored for Afghanistan has started in Kabul on 22 April 2017. The third module of the programme, titled “Youth Employment”, has ended on 26 April 2017 and has covered a wide range of topics linked to Youth: specifically youth employment issues and challenges in the context of fragility; profiling who the youth are in Afghanistan; developing strategies and policies targeting tailored needs of the youth; budgeting and the team projects will work linking their respective projects to monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

    Labour Market Analysis: Second Module of the Training Programme for Afghanistan

    Week 2 of the One Year Training Programme on Employment Policies – tailored for Afghanistan has started in Kabul on 25 March 2017. The second module of the programme, titled “Labour Market Analysis and Employment Policies”, will run until 29 March 2017 and will cover a wide range of topics linked to Labour Market Analysis: specifically labour market analysis in the Afghan context; the pillars of employment policy and strategy (workforce development); institutional arrangements; employment indicators including disaggregated data (gender); and the team projects will work linking their projects to employment policies.

    Promoting rural youth employment in Afghanistan

    1 January 2016 - 31 December 2017

    The objective of the project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of ILO constituents and other ILO stakeholders in Afghanistan to tackle the youth employment promotion challenge through the adjustment of existing employment promotion policies and programmes in reflection of global good practice in countries affected by fragility.

    Workers', employers', and government's representatives from Afghanistan start a training on employment for resilience

    The official Opening Ceremony of the One Year Training Programme on Employment Policies: moving from fragility to resilience – tailored for Afghanistan took place at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India. The event is the first in a series of eight modules that will train 30 participants from the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled (MoLSAMD) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as well as representatives of Workers’ and Employers’ Organizations in the country.

    The course, composed of 8 one-week module, aims at building capacities among government officials, social partners and other relevant stakeholders on the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of effective National Employment Policies and other related subjects.
