It is implemented in Gampaha district that has been hardest hit by the pandemic both in terms of the health crisis and socio-economically. Gampaha hosts a large number of MSEs in the informal economy struggling to survive and build back from COVID19.

  5. ILO Migrant Worker Resource Centre (MRC) Map

    The ILO delivers assistance directly to migrant workers and their communities through a network of Migrant Worker Resource Centres (MRCs) across the ASEAN region. These MRCs are managed in partnership with government institutions, trade unions and civil society organizations (CSOs), and provide a range of services in countries of origin and destination. As of 01 January 2022, the ILO supports or provides specific services at 51 locations across nine countries.

  2. Migration and gender in Bangladesh: An irregular landscape

    This survey is part of a series of studies commissioned by the Work in Freedom Programme of the ILO in order to document the motives and trajectories of migrant women workers. The survey explores the local and regional gendered specificities of migration and work-seeking in selected localities of Bangladesh by collecting gender disaggregated data and analysing contrasting patterns that inform women and men’s migration.
